Role of Directorate Of Public Prosecution

       The Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Act, 2005 has brought about several changes, including a statutory Directorate of Prosecution and the Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill, 2006 promises more major reforms, based mainly on the Malimath Committee on reforms of the criminal justice system. Therefore, the role of this Directorate is to ensure and facilitate effective and competent conduct of Prosecution so as to bring the offenders to justice and to upkeep the faith of public in our justice delivery system.
